This is a thread about Hyper-V, not guests. Hyper-V has no effect on guests. Guests VM licensing depends on the guest. Hyper-V is the "host" and there is no such thing as a Hyper-V license, so no matter what you install there will never become a Hyper-V license. Anything you put on top of Hyper-V has to be licensed as normal. If you use Windows, you need licenses. If you want CentOS, there is no license. Linux doesn't refer to anything specific. So it depends what Linux you get as to what your license situation is.
